Born in Birmingham in 1951, Anthony Gibbs attended Bournville School of Art, although he is primarily a self-taught artist. His first one man show was in 1976 with six further one man exhibitions since.
His first Limited Edition print "White Tigers Ever Watchful" was released in 1988 and was an instant sell-out not only in Britain, but also in the USA. He went to Kenya for the first time in 1989. He is a committed conservationist and is a member of several conservation charities.
Anthony Gibbs is a member of the Society of Animal Artists in New York, winning the society's National Tour, People's Choice Award '92 - '93 and the society's "Award of Excellence" medal in 1997. With the society his work has been exhibited all over America.
